The 26 Book Challenge!
30 Jan
What is the 26 book challenge? I first came across it in a post by Julien Smith where he talked about challenging himself to read a book a week for a year and broke down how simple it is to achieve this goal.
Now as great and easy as it sounds, not everyone can commit to that amount and variations have cropped up with people setting their own ambitious goals, as described by Dave Fleet.
This year I’ve decided to rise up to the challenge and read 26 books and as much as I can, share reviews with you.
Why all of a sudden? I always have been an avid reader and like the idea of having a target that I can measure at the end of the year. And not to mention the huge benefits that come with- more knowledge, learning a new skill and of course, being able to have interesting things to share with others.
So who’s in? Set your goal and let’s do this together!
What’s on my reading list?
So far I’ve read the following:
- Content Rules by C.C Chapman and Ann Handley
- Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
- The Thrive Diet by Brendan Brazer
- Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shaw
- Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
- The Art of Non Conformity by Chris Guillebeau
Up next, I’m going to read Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shaw Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, the Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk
Need ideas? Natalie Sisson over at The Suitcase Entrepreneur crowd-sourced a rich list of books from her community and it is a good place to start if you are looking for inspiration.
What’s on your list? And it doesn’t have to be all business/non-fiction! Mixing it up is always good for the creative spirit 😉
I’ll be updating my list as I finish more and share my reviews. I’d love to hear what you’re reading and what your reading goals are, let me know in the comments below!
